Well played. Are you a Hufflepuff?

For me, a book is about the message and the adventure. I take notes when I read because I will remember things better that way, and by underlining a line I like, I can find it easier later on. In college, when I studied literature, I would try to buy the best used copy of a given text, which, to me, meant the one that somebody had put their thoughts into - in pen. What could ever be bad about knowing how somebody ELSE reacted to a work of lit? It has only made me a better writer. I hate being judged by people. I know the intent is often trolling, or whatever, but it’s like, live and let live. A lot of people liked when I posted the photo. If I hadn’t underlined it, nobody would have seen it. When I open up a work I studied ten years ago, I can go right to the passages I liked, and look at what I was thinking at the time. It’s a time machine of sorts.
The book in question was a mass market paperback, not even a trade paper. That’s book-selling slang. I’ll let you guess where I learned it.
So what about the rest of you? Do you write in books?
